The Heitz Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon has a rich varietal aroma that leads to delicious flavors of dark cherry with notes of spicy plum. A generous core of Cabernet fruit is nicely integrated with refreshing acidity and just the right amount of oak. This wine has a silky texture, which builds momentum as it crosses the palate to a lovely finish that is lingering as well.
The foods that will help bring out the flavor in this Cabernet Sauvignon are steak, hamburgers, beef short ribs, roasted or grilled lamb and portobello mushrooms. Cabernet goes well with cheeses as well, so you can serve blue cheese, gorgonzola, aged cheddar, gouda, or polenta with it. Serve any of them with this Cabernet and they will bring out the flavor of this beautiful wine.
