Pahlmeyer Merlot
Merlot comes is a French term and means “young blackbird?” It is believed that French winemakers gave this wine its name because the grapes that are used to make Merlot are a beautiful blue-black color or because blackbirds like to eat grapes.
One of these great Merlot’s is Pahlmeyer Merlot. It opens with complex aromas of blueberry and boysenberry and is lifted with fresh hints of cardamom, anise, and Herbs de Provence. The deep fruit flavors carry over the pallet with subtle notes of forest floor, crushed tomatoes, and oregano. It has soft, subtle, and elegant tannins provide the structure that is needed to help this wine age beautifully.
