Layer Cake 'Sea of Stones' Red

Named for a memorable landscape carpeted in cobblestones, Layer Cake 'Sea of Stones' is a concentrated red wine blended using Malbec, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot before being permitted to sit in 100% French oak barrels. This process brings out flavors of ripe fruit, grilled bread, and even wet stones, which are accompanied by notes of coffee, chocolate, and spices. Combined, these flavors make Layer Cake 'Sea of Stones' an excellent pairing with red meats, roasted vegetables, and other rich foods, thus reflecting its blended nature.

TASTING NOTES

The Layer Cake Sea of Stones red blend is extremely dense and concentrated. Opaque purple, almost black in color, the aroma is full of ripe black fruit, grilled bread, pencil lead, wet stones, lavender, blueberry pie, and black cherry. On the palate there is layer upon layer of savory fruit, spice notes, espresso, and dark chocolate as well as rich, creamy texture. The aromas and flavors carry on long after the wine is gone from your mouth, the finish taunting you to have another sip.
